Apple Cider Vinegar Recipe is a great way to use up leftover apples from apple pies, cakes, muffins. It's easy, healthy, and all-natural - the perfect addition to any kitchen!

We incorporate wine vinegar into our daily menu for salads, dressings, and sauces. Why not create your own healthy apple-based Apple Cider Vinegar recipe? Besides balsamic vinegar, I’ve practically eliminated other vinegars from my diet.

When is it best to stock up on Apple Cider Vinegar?

First, apples are generally available and fresh in late summer and early fall. Additionally, we often use apples to make various delicacies such as cakes, apple muffins, and more.
Apple vinegar is not only used in the kitchen, but this topic will be covered in the entire article.

How to choose the best ingredients for Homemade Apple Vinegar

Apples: When making homemade apple cider vinegar, it’s best to use fresh apples bought from the nearby market in late summer or fall. You can also use apple remnants such as peels and seed cores. To make the vinegar, you’ll need about 1 kg of apples or apple leftovers, including the whole fruit.

Honey: There are versions of the apple recipe that use sugar. However, since sugar is already a processed product and I want to achieve a completely natural effect, I prefer using honey. This is a method that my grandmother and great-grandmother used, so I like to follow their tradition.

Tips and tricks for homemade Apple Cider Vinegar

Please remember the following instructions for the fermentation process:

  • The jar must be washed and scalded thoroughly for successful fermentation.
  • The occurrence of white bloom during fermentation does not always indicate the presence of mildew.
  • When sediment appears at the bottom of the bottle after straining, it is a natural process and does not affect the vinegar’s quality. It simply means that the vinegar has not been completely drained.
  • To avoid contamination, thoroughly wash and scrub the apples. First, wash in cold water and then in warmer water. Even if the apples are from organic farming, there may still be pollution in the air that needs to be removed. As soon as sediment appears at the bottom of the bottle after straining, it is a natural process. Apple Cider Vinegar is a great natural addition in the kitchen and cosmetics, my dear. The French have been using it for a long time to care for their skin and help maintain a slim figure. Prep Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 1/4 cup water
  • 35 oz apples, apple peel, apple seed sockets
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  • I do apple vinegar when I have a lot of different apple scraps left, for example, when I make an apple cake.
  • Thoroughly wash the apples and cut them into pieces. For the vinegar, we use all parts of the apples except the stalks.
  • Add honey to boiled warm water, cool it down, and pour over our apples earlier in a scalded jar.
  • For vinegar production, we do not use metal spoons or bowls because the bacteria that ferment fermentation react badly with the metal. It includes glass, plastic and wood.
  • We cover the jar as soon as I have it ready with a gipsy glass cup.
  • I close the lid at night and gently open it for the whole day.
  • I wouldn't say I like the version with cloths and rubber bands because everything is dirty when the vinegar ferments. But I can use vinegar in such a jar, too. It is a proven option.
  • Apples prepared in this way should be placed in a warm place and mixed well every day to get air inside, promoting fermentation.
  • Vinegar production takes from 1 to 3 weeks and depends on the acidity of the apples. The vinegar is ready when it stops fermenting.
  • Unfortunately, all the vinegar is thrown away when mould appears, which means that the fermentation did not go in the right direction.
The recipe gives about 1 liter of apple vinegar. Store apple cider vinegar in a tightly closed bottle in a dark place.
